Jonathan Safran Foer: Tree of Codes

Reasons why I love this book:

1. "Written" (see 2) by Jonathan Safran Foer.

2. By "written," I mean "written." The actual text is The Street of Crocodiles by Bruno Schulz. Foer's Tree of Codes, is carved out of the existing text. Each page is a die cut wonder.

3. Tree of Codes uses only letters found in The Street of Crocodiles.

4. Really harking back to #1, but this quote from Olafur Eliasson is awesome:
“Jonathan Safran Foer, deftly deploys sculptural means to craft a truly compelling story. In our world of screens, he welds narrative, materiality, and our reading experience into a book that remembers that it actually has a body.”

Being back!!

It's been waaaaay too long, I agree. I know I say this every time I have a lapse, but hope to be more regular in the future!

Here's a post for the day: Anthropologie's Collected Memories Mirror, which I love for both the way it looks and what it's called.
