Wheels of Color

I was a terrible student of science, but I have to say, when it came to light and color, it was intuitive. I love how it is aesthetically and intellectually stimulating, all at once. Read more about color here.

This post is dedicated to Kim, Aki and Jane -- fellow students and lovers of color.

This cracked me up. It reminds me of the time my dad actually brought home a squirrel in a cage (don't know how he managed to get it in there) for my brother, who refused to have anything to do with it, unlike the kid down below... Also from Box of Birds.

Food + Fashion Duets

The two go quite well together, don't they? Cakes by Maggie Austin Cake and dresses from J. Crew Wedding. Pairings done by me.

New looks for the fall. But it's really the distressed, serif type that catches my eye.

Thanks to Natalie for this post. Designed by students of Leonardo Sonnoli at the University of Venice. Based on the short story, The Aleph, by Jorge Luis Borges and below, the sentence that inspired the installation:

Vi a un tiempo cada letra de cada pàgina.
All at the same time I saw each letter on each page.

Monique Péan Bracelets

via styledotcom. These babies are made of fossilized woolly mammoth tusks that are 25,000 years old with the designs etched into them. Turns out Mrs. Obama-rama was sporting them not too long ago.

Not Kyoto, Japan, but a cup of Kyoto: a slow drip, cold-brewed iced coffee that takes about 18 hours and is likened to drinking aged bourbon or rum... sounds like a premium glass of coffee!
