What about this city still surprises you:

Art is alive and well. At
Ryan McGinley’s most recent opening the turnout was so great that Grand Street was covered with people for hours waiting to get in. Traffic was stopped, the fire department and mounted police showed up, all because so many people wanted to see a particular artist’s photos on the first day they were available for viewing.
