Syria

My dear friend and practically sister, Sarah (Siwon), just left yesterday for an eight month missions trip to Syria. I was heartbroken to see her go, but her involvement with her missions organization over the past year and a half or so has been so transformative. To see and feel that kind of radical change in a person is incredibly encouraging and challenging in a good way. I can't help but feel the reverberations of that very change in my own life and want the same thing.

I will be updating on Siwon's status as she sends news and hopefully photos, so stay tuned folks. Below, a shot of Damascus, Syria. The glowing green lights are mosques. Though Syria is rich in Biblical history (Paul's journey to Damascus, the first Christians in Antioch) only 5% of the population would consider themselves followers of Christ.
